Herve Elliott needed seconds to score the winning goal for Liverpool against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16.
Elliott came on in the 86th minute as a substitute for Mohamed Salah, and in less than two minutes he was able to score the Reds’ first goal with a powerful left-footed shot that Donnarumma failed to deal with properly.

The strange thing is that Elliott’s shot was practically Liverpool’s first chance in a match that PSG completely dominated and wasted a barrage of clear chances.
The numbers show that Alisson Becker made 9 saves, and that Paris Saint-Germain shot 27 balls in the match, in addition to wasting 3 clear chances.
The French club was superior in almost everything but lacked effectiveness, unlike Liverpool who appeared very pale, as they only made 295 passes compared to 694 for Luis Enrique’s team.
In the end, Liverpool won, and the capital club must go to Anfield next week and return with a two-goal victory to qualify for the quarter-finals.
It is worth noting that the winner of this match will await the winner of Club Brugge and Aston Villa in the quarter-finals, knowing that the English club won the first leg in Belgium 3-1.
