Saudi football legend Mohammed Al-Deayea launched a scathing attack on Cristiano Ronaldo after he refused to accept the silver medal for the Saudi Super Cup.
Al-Nassr lost to Al-Hilal 4-1, and Ronaldo immediately left Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium and refused to ascend the podium to receive the silver medal.
As a result, “The Don” was subjected to a fierce attack from many athletes and fans, the latest of whom was Al-Deayea, who said, “Ronaldo does not respect Al-Nassr.”
He added, “Al-Nassr is bigger than any player, even if he is the best in the world five times, the entity remains more important and bigger.”
He continued, “The captain is supposed to be a role model for his teammates in defeat, I don’t understand why Ronaldo only appears in victories?”
He added, “Ronaldo did not respect the match sponsor or the Saudi Football Federation, and I don’t know why Castro (the coach) did not ask him to come and receive the medal.”
He concluded, “No one can do anything to Ronaldo, he does whatever he wants, but we should never overlook his actions, no matter what his name is.”
