Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni announced his intention to continue in his position as his country’s coach for as long as possible, and even demanded that his contract be renewed soon.
Scaloni is the godfather of Argentina’s return to titles, as with him the silver country succeeded in winning the Copa America twice, the 2022 World Cup, and also finalissima.
After achieving the 2024 Copa America, Scaloni spoke to the media about his future and said, “My contract with the national team still extends for two years.”
He also added, “We have to tell the president of the Argentine Football Association to sign me for 15 years, and I will really do it!”
Scaloni’s statements come to reassure the Argentine fans after the crisis that occurred between him and the Argentine Federation last year, which made him wave his resignation before the Copa America.
It is noteworthy that Scaloni has been linked to coaching many major European clubs, most notably Real Madrid, which he reportedly sees as a potential successor to Carlo Ancelotti in the future.
