Shock: Bellingham faces a heavy penalty for “contempt of the referee”

Mundo Deportivo reported that Jude Bellingham may be subject to a heavy penalty after the recent incidents with the referee of the Osasuna and Real Madrid match.

Bellingham was sent off in the first half after the referee accused him of verbally insulting him, while the player insists that he did not mean to do so and that Montero’s poor English was the cause of the crisis.

The referee included in his report that Bellingham insulted him and did not show him respect, so the Englishman is about to receive a heavy penalty even despite his justification for the situation.

According to the latest report, Bellingham’s minimum suspension will be two matches in La Liga, and the penalty may extend to a full month of suspension depending on what the Disciplinary Committee ultimately decides.

In principle, Bellingham will certainly not participate against Girona and Real Betis at least, but he will participate normally against Real Sociedad in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals.

Bellingham’s penalty is expected to be announced within a few hours, while Real Madrid will in any case appeal against it, but nothing is expected to result.
