Liverpool manager Arne Slot expressed his dissatisfaction with his team’s failure to completely dominate the friendly match against Manchester United despite the Reds winning 3-0.
Speaking to the media after the match played in the United States, the Dutch coach said, “Yes, I’m happy with Liverpool’s performance today but not completely, we scored some really great goals.”
He added, “My anger lies in the fact that we didn’t control the game enough, they threatened us more than once, we won 3-0 but the result could have been different.”
He continued, “Manchester United today deserved to lose by a bigger score than 3-0, but we wasted a lot of easy chances to score.”
He concluded, “We will wait for 7 or 8 international players to join Liverpool in the coming days, we have to see how they will adapt to the team before the start of the new season.”
It is worth noting that Liverpool have won friendlies against Real Betis and Arsenal in addition to the United match, and will face Sevilla next Sunday in their final pre-season match before the start of the new season against Ipswich Town on August 17.
