Real Betis president Angel Haro has confirmed that his club has entered into negotiations with Barcelona to acquire the services of Vitor Roque.
Betis is not the only club aiming to sign the Brazilian international, as Spanish newspapers confirm that Sporting Lisbon have made a formal offer to buy the player in recent days.
Haro said in a media statement, “We want to sign Roque and the player is excited about our project, but the road will not be easy.”
He added, “We are now negotiating to get the most out of him and all our goals in the transfer market.”
According to the newspaper “Sport”, the disagreement between Betis and Barcelona lies in the fact that the Andalusian club wants Roque on loan with an option to buy.
At the same time, Barcelona so far prefers Sporting’s offer due to their desire to sell the player immediately and benefit financially from him without waiting another year.
As for the player, he currently leans towards Real Betis over Sporting, and the matter is expected to be finalized in the coming hours.
