“FIFA” revealed the votes of the national team captains in the various “The Best” awards, most notably the Best Player in the World Award 2024.
The Best Award went to Vinicius Junior, outperforming Rodri, and the numbers show that what tipped the scales in his favor were the players’ votes, unlike the coaches who sided with the Manchester City star more.
As for Lionel Messi, captain of the Argentine national team, he chose Lamine Yamal as the best player in the world 2024.
In second place, Messi chose his former Paris Saint-Germain teammate Kylian Mbappe, and Vinicius Junior came in third place, in the complete absence of Rodri, who does not seem to convince the flea very much.
The strangest position was Cristiano Ronaldo’s position, who refused to vote as the captain of the Portuguese national team, although he has always voted since 2016 until now.
Instead of Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva voted as the second captain of Portugal, and he chose Rodri in first place.
As for Mohamed Salah, the captain of the Egyptian national team, he chose Vinicius in first place, Rodri in second, and Dani Carvajal in third.
