Former Barcelona scout Bojan Krkic Sr. revealed that he stood in the way of the Catalan club signing Eden Hazard at the beginning of his career.
Hazard excelled a lot with Lille in the French league, before moving to Chelsea and becoming one of the legends of the Premier League, then ending his career with Real Madrid in an experience that was one of the worst for both parties.
Despite his retirement.. Real Madrid pays new money because of Hazard!
Why did Barcelona refuse to sign Hazard at the beginning of his career?
In an interview with the Catalonia network, Krkic said, “The first time I followed Hazard was in the Euro Under-17, he played this tournament wonderfully except for the final match between Belgium and Spain.”
He also added, “Then I went to follow him with Lille in the Montpellier match, and there he did something that made me reject the idea of signing him despite my great admiration for his abilities as a player.”
“The match was in August and it was very hot, he came out to warm up a minute late and instead of going with the players to training he went and looked at the stands,” he continued.
He concluded in this regard, “He repeated the same thing three days later, and he clearly lacked intensity in the warm-up every time, which is why I put the word “neglected” in my report to Barcelona and it was a reason why I did not try to sign him.”
Bojan Krkic Sr (Former Barça scout): “When Eden Hazard played at Lille, I was scouting him for Barcelona. I was in love with his technical abilities, but discarded him due to his attitude and personality. I noted that he wouldn’t warm up with intensity, he walked around.” pic.twitter.com/7RKAWwOiBT

Hazard’s career
Hazard eventually moved to Chelsea in the summer of 2012 for 35 million euros, and there over the course of 7 years he achieved many achievements.
The Belgian star won the Premier League title twice, the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup once each, then moved to Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 for 120 million euros.
Hazard’s career at Real Madrid was marred by injuries, and he only played 76 games over 4 years, scoring just 7 goals and making 12 assists, before leaving a year before the end of his contract and announcing his retirement from football.
