The newspaper “Sport” revealed that one of Barcelona’s stars underwent surgery 3 weeks ago and the Catalan club did not announce it.
This star is Andreas Christensen, who continues to recover from his Achilles tendon injury that has exhausted his career since 2022.
According to the report, the Danish player underwent a final surgery on his foot 3 weeks ago in Sweden, and traveled again in the past hours to remove the stitches.
Barcelona’s management does not see this matter as serious or requiring a special announcement, considering that the surgery was indeed an important part of the recovery process that has extended over the past 4 months.
Christensen is expected to return to Barcelona training and appear for the first time with Hansi Flick’s squad within 20 days from now, but he will not be able to play before next January due to his not being registered in La Liga.
Christensen may not appear again with Barcelona, in light of the rumors that the management intends to sell him in order to be able to re-register Dani Olmo in January.
It is worth noting that due to his injury and the need for treatment for 4 months, Barcelona excluded Christensen from its list in La Liga and put Olmo in his place, so that he will be automatically re-registered once January comes.
