The New York Times dropped a bombshell when it said that Mohamed Salah would welcome a move to another English club if he leaves Liverpool.
The Egyptian international’s contract at Anfield ends at the end of the current season, and so far, the renewal issue is complicated due to his advancing age and Liverpool’s unwillingness to give him a big salary or a long-term contract.
Although Salah, who is 32 years old, has a very large offer from the Saudi league, his priority remains to continue playing in European football, and specifically English football.
Certainly, Salah does not want to anger Liverpool fans, so he does not intend to join a direct competitor or traditional rival such as Manchester City or Manchester United.
According to the report, Salah would welcome a return to Chelsea as he still enjoys good relations with the Blues fans.
As an idea, it seems that Chelsea would welcome Salah’s arrival to be the leader of the club’s new project, as a big star of the Egyptian’s caliber and with his great history in the Premier League can tip the scales in favor of the London club and return it to the podiums once again.
So far, the matter remains just rumors, and there is no movement from Chelsea, and it is likely that the “Egyptian King” will ultimately stay at Anfield.
