The Confederation of African Football announced the list of candidates for the best awards in the African continent in 2024, and witnessed some major surprises.
Perhaps the most important award, the best player in Africa award, was more than carrying surprises, after “CAF” excluded star Mohamed Salah from the final list of candidates.
The sun of the Liverpool star did not disappear from the final list of candidates over the past 7 years, but “CAF” saw that what the 32-year-old presented last season was less than expected from him.
At the same time, although the Spanish newspapers said that he was an extraordinary candidate to win the title, Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz was excluded from the list despite his great season last season with the royal club.
There were only 3 Arab players on the list of candidates for the best, namely Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi, Stade Rennais star Amin Gouiri, and Al Ain star Sofiane Rahimi.
As for the award for the best player in Africa, there is a very fierce Arab competition.
Zamalek star Ahmed Sayed Zizo is competing with Al-Ahly stars Hussein El-Shahat and Mostafa Shobier, in addition to the brilliant Esperance goalkeeper Aman Allah Mamish, for the best of those active in the African continent.

Date of the 2024 African Best Awards Ceremony
The 2024 African Best Awards Ceremony will include the distribution of other awards in addition to the best in and within the continent, and we are talking here about the best coach and the best club and others.
