Surprise: Van Dijk Agrees to Move to Saudi Giants

According to Saudi journalist Abdulaziz Al-Osaimi, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has agreed to join Al Nassr in the current summer transfer window.

The Dutch international’s contract with the Reds expires in the summer of 2025, and he has previously announced that all options are open to him and that he has not yet decided his future.

Al-Osaimi confirms that van Dijk has agreed to move to Al Nassr, but the only obstacle is for the Saudi club to reach an agreement with Liverpool officials on the deal.

The Saudi journalist pointed out that Al Nassr is not getting the necessary financial support from the Saudi league’s recruitment committee, which could lead to the failure of van Dijk’s signing, as happened with Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson.

Ederson had also agreed to move to Al Nassr, but the City management rejected the 30 million euro offer and demanded at least 60 million euros to agree to sell the goalkeeper, which led to the withdrawal of “Faris Najd” from the deal.

It is expected that Liverpool’s demands to agree to van Dijk’s departure will also be high, and therefore the recruitment committee must provide financial support to Al Nassr, otherwise the Dutchman’s move to the Roshn League will be in jeopardy.
