According to “Sport” newspaper, Barcelona’s management is strongly considering signing Al-Ittihad star N’Golo Kante during the current summer transfer window.
The Catalan club is looking to bolster their midfield at the request of coach Hansi Flick, and Kante has emerged as an ideal option for this purpose despite his advanced age and being 33 years old.
The outstanding performance of the French international with his country in Euro 2024 is the biggest incentive for Barcelona to sign him, as the player showed his physical strength and that he has not lost his rhythm despite the differences between European football and the Saudi league.
Barcelona is not the only club interested in Kante, as the player has received an offer in the last few hours from West Ham, but the problem remains the same in that Al-Ittihad is not ready to sell its star under any circumstances.
“The Athletic” network had previously said that Al-Ittihad is only ready to listen to offers for Kante if the transfer value reaches 25 million pounds, an amount that Barcelona is currently unable to pay due to the economic crisis.
Joan Laporta’s management wants to complete Kante’s signing on loan according to “Sport”, but this will not be accepted by Al-Ittihad under any circumstances, which makes the deal currently very complicated.
It is worth noting that the second name that Barcelona’s management is considering if the signing of Kante fails is Real Betis star Mikel Merino.
