Famous Swedish coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has died at the age of 76 after a bitter battle with pancreatic cancer.
Eriksson was considered one of the elite coaches at the beginning of the new millennium, having led Lazio to the Italian league title and coached the England national team and Manchester City.
Eriksson announced last January that he had cancer and that doctors had told him he had less than a year to live.
Eriksson has been honored many times over the past period, most notably when he took over as Liverpool coach for a day in order to fulfill his dream of working at Anfield.
A few days ago, Eriksson sent his last messages to the fans, saying, “I had a good life, and I think we all fear death but life is also about death, I hope you remember me as a positive person, don’t be sad and smile, thank you for everything.”
