Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag made a strange statement to justify the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool, which can only be described as Jose Mourinho-style.
The defeat to the Reds was United’s second loss this season after losing to Brighton in the last round 2-1, with the only victory coming against Fulham in the first round.
Ten Hag was asked if he had a coaching problem that was the reason for United’s poor results in the last two seasons, to respond in Mourinho’s style that his numbers speak for themselves.
The Dutchman said, “Do we have a problem? Are you really sure of what you’re saying? I don’t think that’s true.”
He continued, “It seems that you haven’t won titles like we have and you’ve never won against big teams.”
He concluded, “I’m sorry for you, after Manchester City, United are the club that has won the most titles in England in recent years.”
