The draw for the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup was held on Friday evening, which resulted in a number of fiery confrontations.
For the first time in history, 16 teams from Europe will qualify in light of the increase in the number of teams participating in the World Cup to 48 teams.
The qualification system will be simple, as the teams have been divided into 12 groups, each group includes 4 teams, from which the first-place team qualifies directly to the World Cup.
There are 4 other seats remaining that will be distributed through play-off matches that include the teams that occupy second place, in addition to the four best-ranked teams from the 2024/2025 European Nations League.
