Real Madrid star and Dutch football legend, Rafael van der Vaart, launched a major attack on Jude Bellingham and considered that he did not deserve to wear the number 10 shirt with the England national team.
Although Bellingham performed acceptable in the Euros and even in the final match he succeeded in setting up England’s only goal, Van der Vaart does not understand his attacking position and does not consider him good at it.
The Dutch legend said in television statements, “Bellingham cannot do extraordinary touches. He is just a boy who keeps running and working for 90 minutes.”
He also added, “I don’t understand why he wears the number 10 shirt with England. Yes, he can wear it, but for me it certainly has nothing to do with the number 10.”
Bellingham was not the only victim of Van der Vaart’s attack, as he called former Hamburg player Declan Rice a “useless” player.
He concluded, “How did Arsenal buy him for 100 million? He receives the ball and then returns it to the defense. If you really deserve this number, you have to be able to play the ball forward.”
