“The magic of injured substitutes” is Barcelona’s way to beat PSG (video)

Barcelona succeeded in defeating Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals at the Parc des Princes Stadium.

The Catalan club took the lead with a goal in the first half through Rafinha, before the hosts came back through Ousmane Dembélé and Vitina with two goals in the first five minutes of the second half.

What happened next could be classified as “substitute magic” in Xavi Hernandez’s squad.

Pedri Gonzalez, after coming on as a substitute for Sergi Roberto in one minute, passed a magical ball to Rafinha, who in turn scored his second goal in the match, which equalized for Barca in the 62nd minute.

In the 76th minute, Xavi brought on Andreas Christensen instead of Frenkie de Jong, and one minute later the Dane scored the winning goal with a perfect header.

It remains to be noted that Pedri has been absent from Barcelona for 38 days due to injury, and Christensen has also just returned from injury, making it a magical night for Barcelona’s injured substitutes.
