It seems that Real Madrid will have to pay a lot in the next summer transfer period in order to support its defensive line.
The royal club is still reluctant to sign a temporary central defender in the winter, and President Florentino Perez prefers to wait until the summer and sign a young and permanent defender to support Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
The name of Leipzig defender Castillo Lukeba has emerged as one of the most popular names inside the walls of the Santiago Bernabéu, and Real even considered trying to sign him in the winter.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the release clause of the 21-year-old defender will be 90 million euros next summer, noting that his contract with the German club is valid until 2029.
Real Madrid is not the only club interested in obtaining Lukeba’s services, as the player is also the subject of interest from giant clubs from the English Premier League.
It remains unknown whether Real Madrid is willing to pay this large sum, or whether it will first be forced to sell a number of its players, especially since the economic situation in the Spanish capital club is not at its best.
It should be noted that Lukeba is not the only option on Real’s table in the center-back position, as there are other more economical options such as Jonathan Tah, who can be contracted for free and has been a major consideration for the Madrid administration recently.
