The Spain and Barcelona legend decides to retire from football

Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Thiago Alcantara has decided to retire from football while he is still only 33 years old.

Alcantara has suffered from repeated injuries in recent years, to the point that he only participated for a few minutes in the last season with Liverpool.

Although he has offers from Europe, the Arab region and America, Alcantara believes that it is the right time to end his career as a player and start a new chapter with another role in the world of football.

Alcantara has an exceptional football career, as he started with Barcelona, then joined Bayern Munich, and from there to Liverpool, with which his contract expired at the end of last season.

Over the course of his career, Alcantara won 32 titles, including 2 Champions League titles (once with Bayern and another with Barcelona).

At the Spanish national team level, Alcantara played 46 international matches during which he scored two goals, but he only achieved titles with the junior national teams and not the senior national team.

It is not yet known whether the player intends to work as a coach or administrator in football, knowing that his name has been associated with returning to Barcelona as an assistant to Hansi Flick due to his mastery of the Spanish and German languages.
