Three Zamalek players arrested after Pyramids match

Three Zamalek players were arrested after the end of the White team’s match against Pyramids in the semi-finals of the 2024 Egyptian Super Cup.

According to what was published by Arab media, the trio Mustafa Shalaby, Mohamed Sobhi and Nabil Emad Donga assaulted an individual at Al Nahyan Stadium.

Zamalek Board Member Ahmed Suleiman revealed that the trio were released at the stadium and were not transferred to the police station as rumored.

Suleiman said that the Zamalek players assaulted a person wearing a red shirt, and it later turned out that he was an Emirati security officer, which led to their immediate arrest.

The players were then allowed to leave with the team’s delegation to the hotel, and the Egyptian ambassador to the Emirates intervened in the hope of ending the matter amicably between the two parties.

So far, the fate of the trio from participating in the Egyptian Super Cup final remains unknown, especially since if the matter is not resolved amicably, a decision may be issued to deport them immediately to Cairo.
