Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has completed his agreement with Galatasaray of Turkey to move to its ranks on loan for one season.
The Nigerian international was forced to make this choice after his move to a major European club failed in the summer Mercato that ended on August 30.
Turkey is one of the rare countries in Europe where the summer market is still open so far, while Osimhen was looking to leave Napoli at any cost.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Galatasaray first agreed with Napoli to get Osimhen, and then negotiations began between the Turkish club and the player.
Osimhen agreed to move to Galatasaray to escape what he is experiencing in Napoli, as he was excluded from the team’s list participating in the Italian League and coach Antonio Conte announced that he is out of the calculations no matter what happens.
Napoli will bear the lion’s share of Osimhen’s salary, and the southern club has agreed to the player’s condition to reduce the release clause in his contract with Napoli from 135 million euros to only 75 million euros.
Osimhen wants to increase his chances of moving to a major European club in the top five leagues next January, and has agreed with Galatasaray to cut the loan short if he receives a good offer, with the Turkish club earning some money then.
The Nigerian is expected to travel to Turkey in the coming hours to undergo a medical and sign the contracts officially.
