Trezeguet leaves Europe and moves to an Arab club

Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet’s career in European stadiums will end when he leaves Trabzonspor in Turkey and moves to an Arab club.

According to Al Raya newspaper, Qatari club Al Rayyan has reached an agreement with Trabzonspor to loan the Egyptian star for a year.

Al Rayyan’s contract with Trezeguet came to replace Spanish striker Rodrigo Moreno, who will move to Al Gharafa.

The former Al Ahly player underwent a medical examination on Sunday in the Qatari capital, Doha, and the deal is expected to be officially announced in the next few hours.

Trabzonspor has given up on Trezeguet following the Turkish club’s replacement and renewal process, which began with the dismissal of the coach after failing to qualify for the European League or the European Conference League.

Thus ends the distinguished career of Trezeguet, 29 years old, in Europe, which began with Anderlecht, passing through Mouscron, Kasimpasa, Aston Villa, Basaksehir and finally Trabzonspor.

It remains to be noted that Al Rayyan of Qatar is also on its way to contracting with another Arab player, the Moroccan Achraf Bencharki, after he was close to moving to Zamalek.
