Manchester United announced in an official statement that their stars, Lenny Yoro and Rasmus Højlund, will be out for a long time due to injury.
Yoro joined Manchester United from Lille two weeks ago, and in his second friendly match on the US tour, he suffered a metatarsal fracture.
According to United’s statement, the 18-year-old French defender will need three months to recover and return to the field.
To add to the Red Devils’ pain, striker Højlund has also been injured and will not return for six weeks.
During Manchester United’s friendly match against Real Betis on Thursday morning, Marcus Rashford also came off injured and it doesn’t seem to be a minor injury.
Three major absences will hit Erik ten Hag’s squad at the start of the season and will likely force the English club to enter the transfer market again.
According to English media, United will try to sign Matthijs de Ligt to fill the gap in central defense, and Ivan Toney to compensate for the absence of Højlund, especially since the only available option is now Zirkzee.
