UEFA has confirmed that Alvaro Morata can participate in his country, Spain, against France in the semi-finals of Euro 2024.
Footage during the Germany match in the quarter-finals showed Morata receiving a yellow card while on the bench, which means he was suspended from the semi-final match.
Indeed, the Spanish national team faces 3 absences, 2 of which are due to suspension (Dani Carvajal and Le Normand) and another due to injury (Pedri).
UEFA announced that Morata did not receive a yellow card in the Germany match, and that the warning issued by English referee Anthony Taylor was directed to another player.
Thus, Morata can continue to lead “La Roja” in the semi-finals, but if he receives a yellow card and Spain succeeds in defeating France, he will miss the final match.
Morata has scored one goal in the Euro so far, and is Spain’s all-time top scorer in the competition after scoring 7 goals in 3 previous participations in the tournament.
