Real Madrid player Fede Valverde confirmed that his team has a great desire to take revenge on Barcelona after the heavy 4-0 loss in the Spanish League last October.
Real will meet Barça at the Jewel Stadium in Jeddah on Sunday in the Spanish Super Cup final, in a repeat of their last 3 matches.
Valverde spoke at the press conference before the anticipated match and said, “Revenge? Yes, we have a great desire to take revenge on Barcelona after the last loss in the league.”
He also added, “It was a difficult night during which I could not sleep because we never expected to lose in this way.”
He continued, “We wasted many opportunities in the first half, then Barcelona appeared better in the second half, and this gave us a lot of desire and strength, to become the team we are today.”
He concluded, “The upcoming Clasico is a final match and has its own calculations, but it is the first title this year and we want to achieve it. We will gain great confidence if we succeed in winning the Super Cup.”
It is noteworthy that Real Madrid beat Barcelona in the last Super Cup final in Saudi Arabia 4-1, in a match in which Vinicius Junior scored a hat-trick at the time.
