Van Dijk’s shocking response to Liverpool’s latest offer!

The Athletic confirmed that Virgil van Dijk rejected the offer made to him by Liverpool’s management to extend his stay at Anfield.

The Dutch international’s contract with the Reds expires at the end of the current season, as does Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander Arnold, but the giant defender was the first to receive an official offer from them to renew.

However, The Athletic confirms that the offer received by Van Dijk was very disappointing for the player and his representatives, and he has already informed Liverpool officials of his rejection.

But this does not mean that things have been closed between the two parties, but rather that Liverpool’s offer was an “opening offer”, so negotiations will return between Van Dijk and Liverpool again.

Liverpool will seek to present another improved offer to Van Dijk, who strongly objected to the salary offered in the first offer, as well as the length of the contract.

Liverpool’s management policy tends to be that any player over 30 years old, they reduce his salary significantly, and they also prefer the new contract to be for one year, and whether Van Dijk or Sala, both object to that.
