Vinicius Junior’s comment on the injury he recently suffered was very brief, but it expresses the current football crisis.
Real Madrid announced that their Brazilian star suffered a muscle injury during his participation in the Leganes match on Sunday, and because of it he will be out of action for at least 3 weeks.
Vinicius wrote on his official account on the X platform, “Crazy calendar, let’s get better.”
Vinicius meant by the word crazy calendar the extremely crowded match schedule, as the player had just returned from Brazil after playing two matches in less than a week to find himself participating in 3 matches with Real Madrid in less than a week as well.
Although we are in late November, Vinicius, 23, has played 18 matches with Real Madrid and 4 matches with Brazil, a huge number considering that he did not take enough rest last summer to participate in the 2024 Copa America with his country.
Vinicius is not the only player who complains about the pressure of matches imposed by FIFA and UEFA, there are many players who have criticised it and it has reached the point of asking Rodri to go on strike until the schedule returns to normal.
Vinicius’ season is still long, as he will continue to participate with Real until July 2025 due to the Club World Cup being held in the new format after the end of the current season.
It is worth noting that Real Madrid has been the most affected by the huge pressure of matches, as they lost the services of Eder Militao, Dani Carvajal and several other players due to injuries.
