Vinicius Junior punished Borussia Dortmund for their 2-0 lead against Real Madrid by scoring a hat-trick in the second half.
The match, which was played at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League, saw the German club surprise the home side with two goals from Malen and Ginter in the first half.
But in the second half, specifically in the last 30 minutes, Real Madrid were able to come back, and perhaps the hero of the first day was Vinicius Junior.
Kylian Mbappe created the first goal scored by Antonio Rudiger in the 60th minute, then Vinicius scored the equalizer in the 62nd minute after returning to video technology.
Lucas Vazquez scored Real Madrid’s third goal in the 83rd minute, then Vinicius scored the fourth goal in the 86th minute and the fifth in the 93rd minute.
The Brazilian’s brilliance comes just 6 days before the Ballon d’Or awards ceremony, and perhaps what he presented has decided the award in his favor in the opinion of critics.
After the match, Vinicius was satisfied with a few words to describe his feelings: “I love Real Madrid and I want to stay here forever.”
Real Madrid raised its score to 6 points, equal with Dortmund and 3 points behind the leader Aston Villa.
