Zamalek captain Shikabala joked with his teammate Nasser Mansi and considered that Cristiano Ronaldo was the reason for his brilliance in the Al-Ahly match in the African Super Cup.
In his first touch when he came on as a substitute for Saif Al-Jaziri, Nasser Mansi was able to equalize for Zamalek, then scored a penalty kick that led the team to win the Super Cup for the fifth time in history.
The Egyptian derby was held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.
Shikabala was asked after the match about the secret of Nasser Mansi’s brilliance, to which he replied, “Al-Nasr Club had its camp with us in the same hotel.”
He continued, “Ronaldo was staying on the same floor as Nasser,” referring to the Don’s magic and his influence on the Egyptian star.
As for Mansi himself, he said, “The great Zamalek fans should not have left sad.”
