The famous journalist Fabrizio Romano denied the news circulating about a call between Real Madrid officials and Sergio Ramos in the past period to discuss his possible return.
The “El Chiringuito” program had published that Ramos contacted Real Madrid officials and offered to return to the Merengue again to solve the urgent defensive crisis.
According to the program, Real Madrid’s management rejected the idea in form and substance and informed Ramos directly that he is out of the club’s calculations, based on a decision by President Florentino Perez.
However, Romano confirms that this news is completely false, and that Ramos did not offer himself to Real Madrid, contrary to what was published.
It is true that the 39-year-old welcomes a return to the Santiago Bernabeu and would be very happy if that happened, but he did not contact any official or offer himself in any way to Perez’s management.
As for Real Madrid, there is no intention to bring back Ramos either, and the club is focusing on other options in the centre-back position, most notably the duo Jonathan Tah and Mario Hermoso.
It is worth noting that the current trend in Real Madrid is not to sign a centre-back in the winter if David Alaba is confirmed to be back and ready, while continuing to give the young Raul Asensio the opportunity alongside Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni.
