Which Real Madrid player did Ancelotti cry to convince to stay?

Manchester United player Casemiro recounted how Carlo Ancelotti tried to keep him at Real Madrid in the summer of 2022, to the point that he cried.

After Real Madrid won the fourteenth Champions League title, the Brazilian player surprised everyone by moving to Manchester United in a deal estimated at 70 million euros.

Casemiro said in press statements, “When I completed the agreement with Manchester United, I went to Ancelotti’s office and he started crying.”

He also added, “He said to me: ‘Cassie, I don’t know, but I want you to know that I love you. I don’t want you to leave Real Madrid.'”

He continued, “It was the only moment I doubted my decision to leave Real Madrid.”

As for the way club president Florentino Perez dealt with the matter, he said, “When the talks with United about personal terms were in the final stage, the president did not want me to leave.”

He concluded, “He did not even want to talk to me about leaving Real Madrid. I had to talk to other officials in the club.”
