Who will be Germany’s starting goalkeeper after Neuer retires and Ter Stegen’s injury?

The newspaper “Bild” revealed that the German national team coach Julian Nagelsmann has already chosen who will be the new goalkeeper for his team after Ter Stegen’s injury.

Manuel Neuer had announced his international retirement after Euro 2024, and Nagelsmann then announced that Ter Stegen would be his successor, but the Barcelona goalkeeper will be absent for 8 months due to his knee ligament injury.

Germany currently has some distinguished goalkeepers and the competition is specifically between the quartet Bernd Leno, Alexander Nubel, Kevin Trapp and Oliver Baumann for the starting goalkeeper seat for the Mannschaft.

According to the German newspaper close to Nagelsmann, the coach decided that Germany’s new goalkeeper will be Stuttgart goalkeeper on loan from Bayern Munich Nubel.

Although Nubel’s start to this season is not good, unlike his amazing levels last season, he enjoys Nagelsmann’s confidence more than the rest of Germany’s available goalkeepers.

Noble was loaned to Stuttgart last season, where he led the team to second place in the Bundesliga. This season, he has been heavily criticised for his mistakes in the Champions League match against Real Madrid.
