Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 2-1 in a friendly match at MetLife Stadium in the United States. The goals for Barcelona were scored by Pau Victor in the 42nd and 54th minutes, while Real Madrid’s lone goal was scored by Nico Paz in the 83rd minute.
Pau Victor won the man of the match award for his overall performance, continuing his impressive form during the pre-season under the guidance of coach Hansi Flick.
The 22-year-old had previously scored a goal in the friendly against Manchester City and also won the man of the match award in that game.
After the Clasico, the young player said, “Scoring two goals against Real Madrid is a memory that will stay with me forever.” He continued, “It’s a dream come true, I feel like I’m in heaven now, I’m very happy.”
Flick, on the other hand, commented on Victor’s performance, saying, “He scored 3 goals in two games, it’s not bad at all, we’ll see what happens, the door is open for everyone to stay in the first team for sure.”
