The European Football Association (UEFA) announced the identity of the winner of the Best Player award in the match between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals.
The match, which was held at the Allianz Arena, ended in a 2-2 draw between the two teams, with Vinicius Junior scoring Real Madrid’s two goals, while Bayern’s brace came from Leroy Sane and Harry Kane.
Given his outstanding performance, the Man of the Match award went to Vinicius, who continues to shine with Real Madrid this season in all tournaments.
The Brazilian’s double against Bayern Munich made him exceed the twenty-goal barrier in all competitions this season for the third time in a row, a distinguished number that demonstrates his value to Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old has become the Brazilian who has scored the most goals in the Champions League knockout rounds of all time.
This was the third time that Vinicius scored two goals in one match in the Champions League knockout rounds, after he did so against Liverpool in 2020-21 and 2022-23.
It remains to be noted that Vinicius also became Real Madrid’s top scorer this season with 21 goals, and he also has the most assists with 11 goals.
