Al Fayha star Fashion Sakala has revealed that he cried heavily because of Cristiano Ronaldo when he faced him for the first time in the Saudi league.
Sakala said that he had always dreamed of just meeting his football idol Ronaldo, and when Al-Nassr faced Al Fayha last season, they exchanged shirts, which made him unable to believe what was happening.
The Zambian star said in a statement to the Roshn League account, “I dreamed in 2014 when I was playing in Zambia that I would meet Gerrard and Ronaldo. Fortunately, I worked with the first (at Rangers) and played against the second. I have achieved my dream.”
He added, “I asked Ronaldo for his shirt after the Al-Nassr and Al Fayha match, and the surprise was that he asked for my shirt. I couldn’t believe it to the point that I went into the bathroom in the dressing room and cried hard. I have achieved my dream.”
“The decision to come to Saudi Arabia was not difficult. I found everything I needed, and Ronaldo was one of the reasons I came here. His presence has opened the door for many players to move to the Saudi league,” he concluded.
Sakala was one of the brightest stars of the Saudi league last season, scoring 19 goals with Al Fayha, and he is now attracting the attention of many Roshn League clubs, including Al-Ettifaq, at the request of coach Gerard.
