Bayern Munich officials are suspicious that the team’s star Jamal Musiala will not be able to catch up with Barcelona match next Wednesday in the Champions League.
The Bavarian club announced that Musiala injured his thigh and therefore missed the last international break with the German national team, and will also miss the Stuttgart match on Saturday in the Bundesliga.
According to the newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, Musiala is more likely to miss the Barcelona match than to play the match scheduled to be held at the Allianz Arena.
The 21-year-old is scheduled to undergo thorough examinations within the next 48 hours to determine his final position in catching up with the upcoming Barça match.
Even if Musiala succeeds in recovering before the match, it is not expected that he will participate against Barcelona from the start, as he will not have participated in any training except one or two at most.
Musiala’s absence from Bayern against Barcelona is a big blow to Vincent Kompany’s squad, given his impressive form with the German club this season, which has seen him score 3 goals and create 3 assists in 8 matches so far.
