Kylian Mbappe’s chances of playing for Real Madrid against Pachuca in the 2024 Intercontinental Cup next Wednesday are increasing.
The French international was injured during the Atalanta match in the Champions League, and was diagnosed with a muscle injury in the knee, which requires a week to 10 days of rest.
Mbappe already missed the match against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday, which ended in a 3-3 draw in La Liga.
According to the Spanish media, Mbappe is almost recovered, and returned on Monday and trained on the grass again.
The 25-year-old will travel with Real Madrid to the Qatari capital, Doha, and his position in participating in the Pachuca match will be assessed in a test on Tuesday.
It is most likely that Mbappe will be able to participate with Real against the Mexican club, as coach Carlo Ancelotti is expected to give him some minutes as a substitute in the second half.
It is certain, unless something new happens, that Mbappe will lead Ancelotti’s squad in the final match of 2024 against Sevilla, scheduled for Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu.
