Mundo Deportivo reported that Zinedine Zidane is close to assuming the position of coach of Bayern Munich, succeeding Thomas Tuchel.
The news came a few hours after Julian Nagelsmann announced that he rejected Bayern’s offer to return and renew his contract with the German national team until the 2026 World Cup.
According to reports, Zizou stipulated one thing for the Bavarian club management, which is to strengthen the defense line next summer, and that it is a matter of time and the agreement between the two parties will end.
But Sky Sports, which is very close to Bayern’s management, confirmed that this news is completely false, and that Zidane will not take over as coach of Bayern Munich.
Sky added that Zidane was outside the German club’s accounts in the first place and was never on the list of candidates to coach the Bavarian giant.
Bild newspaper confirmed Sky’s news, which indicates, by virtue of his closeness to Bayern, that Zidane will not coach the South Club and there are no negotiations between the two parties yet.
The name of the new Bavarian coach remains unknown, and it is most likely that the Bayern administration is appointing the duo Roberto De Zerbe and Ralph Rangnick to choose from one of them to succeed Tuchel.
