FIFA has announced the nominees for the Best Awards for 2024.
Lionel Messi has dominated the Best Player award for the past two years, and the biggest surprise of 2024 was his inclusion on the list of nominees.
The Argentine international only won the Supporters’ Shield with Inter Miami, but it seems that for FIFA it was enough to include him on the list of nominees with European football stars given his contribution to Argentina’s victory in the 2024 Copa America.
Although Cristiano Ronaldo has achieved many individual achievements with Al-Nassr, he is absent from the list, with his appearance on another list, which is the players nominated for the Team of the Year.
In addition to the Best Player award, there is the Best Coach, Best Goalkeeper and Best Coach award, and the winners of all the awards are scheduled to be announced next January.
