Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez, announced that he will waive all his financial benefits for next season, despite his early dismissal and the exciting events that took place in the last hours.
Xavi and his technical staff are entitled to receive 15 million euros to be dismissed before the end of their contracts in the summer of 2025, which represented a major crisis for Joan Laporta’s administration.
But in Xavi’s last press conference in preparation for the match against Seville, he confirmed that he would waive his dues in order to support the Catalan club.
Speaking to the media, Xavi said, “The rest of my dues? I previously answered this question and I always keep my word.”
The Catalan coach said when he announced his departure last January that he would not receive money from Barcelona, and that money was his last concern and all he focused on was the future and interest of the Blaugrana.
Xavi opened the door to the possibility of returning to Barcelona one day, saying, “I would love to return to Barcelona one day. It is the club of my life and I will never close the door to the possibility of returning again one day.”
As for his dismissal, he said, “I respect the president’s decision to dismiss me. He is authorized to make decisions. I will always remain a Barcelona fan and support this club with everything I have.”
