Lenny Yoro has indicated that several factors led him to prefer a move to Manchester United this summer despite other offers he received from numerous clubs, including Real Madrid at the forefront.
The French defender’s name was heavily linked with Real Madrid in recent weeks, but the Spanish club refused to pay Lille’s asking price, prompting the player to change his desire from wearing the Los Blancos shirt to Manchester United.
Speaking to the English club’s official website, Yoro said about his reasons for choosing United: “For me, the Premier League is the strongest league in the world. This is the league where you play real football.”
He added, “I’m so excited to play at Old Trafford. I’ve already imagined myself on the pitch; it’s amazing.”
He concluded, “I spoke to Rio Ferdinand about two weeks ago. We talked for ten minutes about Manchester United, and that helped me make my decision.”
