This phrase has sparked great controversy in Egyptian sports circles recently, in light of Al-Ahly fans’ refusal to consider Zamalek the largest fortress in the Nile country.
Zamalek’s management decided to continue to emphasize that the club is the largest fortress in Egypt by placing the phrase on the football team’s shirt.
Zamalek players appeared on Tuesday in the team’s training session in preparation for the Egyptian Super Cup, wearing shirts with “the largest sports fortress in Egypt” written on the back.
According to Egyptian media, there is an intention to extend this matter to include all the shirts of the different teams in all games, in addition to the possibility of including it in the football team’s match shirt.
It is noteworthy that Zamalek is currently preparing to face Pyramids on October 20 in the semi-finals of the Egyptian Super Cup, and will face the winner of Al-Ahly and Ceramica in the final if they succeed in crossing the gate of the Egyptian Cup champion.
