Zamalek received very positive news in the African Confederation Cup, after CAF decided to transfer the Black Bulls match in the fifth round from Mozambique.
Mozambique is suffering from security unrest, so it was decided to transfer the match outside of it, and Zamalek officials succeeded in reaching an agreement with Black Bulls to hold the match in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
Thus, Zamalek will save the trouble of a long trip to Mozambique or any African country, and practically its chances of collecting the three points, which will play an important role in deciding qualification to the quarter-finals, will increase.
Zamalek’s management addressed CAF to inform it of Black Bulls’ acceptance of the decision and approval to hold the match on January 12 at Cairo International Stadium.
The first leg between the two teams was played in the Egyptian capital and resulted in a 2-0 victory for Ahmed Sayed Zizo’s teammates.
Zamalek tops their group with 7 points from two wins over Black Bulls and Al Masry and a draw with Enyimba, while the Mozambican club has 3 points from a single win over Enyimba last round.
The White Knights will first face Al Masry on Sunday, January 5 in Borg El Arab, Alexandria, then meet Black Bulls the following week and conclude the group stage with a match against Enyimba in Cairo on January 19.
