Ahmed Sayed Zizo’s future at Zamalek is still at stake, and moving to traditional rivals Al-Ahly remains one of the options on the player’s table next season.
Zizo’s contract with Zamalek expires at the end of the current season, and so far he has not reached an agreement with Hussein Labib’s administration to renew due to disagreements over the financial compensation.
Zizo appeared on the “Sahibet Al-Saada” program, where he talked about many things, including the possibility of moving to Al-Ahly.
At first, Zizo said about renewing his contract with Zamalek, “We should not talk about renewing the contract of just one player. There are many players who renew their contracts even outside Zamalek and they are not talked about.”
He also added, “I have received many offers, but it is difficult for me to leave Zamalek because of the fans’ love. Everything the press says about the numbers I request for renewal are completely untrue.”
When asked indirectly by the program’s presenter, Esaad Younes, about the possibility of joining Imam Ashour and Ashraf Bencharki at Al-Ahly, he clearly answered, “No, this will not happen.”
It seems that the 29-year-old is inclined to move to the Arab leagues in the event that he leaves Zamalek, amid interest from Qatari and Emirati clubs, the latest of which is Al-Ain Club.
