Ahmed Sayed Zizo has become the talk of Egyptian football fans in recent hours following reports that he has reached an agreement with Al Ahly and has already signed a contract to join the Red Devils.
Zizo’s contract with Zamalek expires at the end of this season, and renewal negotiations between him and the White Knights are currently stalled. Several Arab clubs are said to be interested in him, with Al Ahly and Pyramids FC recently entering the fray.
The Truth About Zizo Signing for Al Ahly
According to Fanzword sources, Zizo has not yet signed with Al Ahly, as claimed. However, negotiations have actually taken place between his father and Mahmoud El Khatib’s management in recent weeks.
The current situation is that Zizo’s negotiations with Al Ahly are in advanced stages, and the main reason is his father, who is deeply angry with the way Zamalek officials have treated him and is trying, in one way or another, to convince his son to move to the Red Castle.
Zizo’s Salary with Al-Ahly
Sources indicate that Al-Ahly is willing to offer Zizo a large salary, potentially exceeding 50 million euros. An agreement has also been reached with his father regarding a large commission, which is the fundamental difference between the offer offered by Al-Khatib’s management and Zamalek.
The 29-year-old’s exact salary has not been determined, but it will exceed $1 million annually at the very least. There is also talk of the possibility of offering him a large signing bonus, but no agreement has been reached yet.
Zamalek’s Position on Zizo’s Contract Renewal
After news of Zizo’s transfer to Al-Ahly spread, the Zamalek management presented Zizo with his final contract renewal offer. If he rejects it, the full details will be announced to the fans, closing the matter completely.
Zamalek and Zizo were supposed to meet after the international break, but the acceleration of events prompted the White Castle management to send Zizo their final official offer via email on Sunday morning.
The contract stipulates that Zizo will receive 80 million Egyptian pounds annually, the highest salary for any player in the history of the Egyptian League, while his father will not be granted the commission he requested.
At the same time, Zamalek considers it impossible to pay a 50 million Egyptian pound bonus, but there is openness to negotiating a much lower amount to persuade the player to continue, with the assurance that the new contract will be activated starting next season.
Zizo’s father had hoped for the contract renewal to extend to the remaining two months of this season, a proposal the club rejects in both form and substance, and is among the disagreements between the two parties.
Zizo and his father have not yet made a final decision regarding the offer from Zamalek and Al Ahly, and the coming hours are expected to bring final news in this regard.
