The Egyptian Football Association has set a date for the 2025 Egypt Cup final between Zamalek and Pyramids FC, and Al Ahly will benefit the most from this.
The Red Devils have finalized an agreement with Ahmed Sayed Zizo to transfer to the club after his contract with Zamalek expires. The crisis remains that the final date will come immediately after the end of all official Egyptian tournaments.
Al Ahly wants Zizo to participate in the 2025 Club World Cup, and therefore must register him between June 2 and 10 at the latest. The date for the Egypt Cup final has not yet been determined.
It was previously announced that the Egypt Cup final would be held on May 20, but Pyramids FC’s qualification for the CAF Champions League final led to the match being postponed indefinitely.
According to Egyptian media, the Egypt Cup final will be held on one of the following dates: June 5 or 6, during the upcoming international break, and will be played in the UAE.
Egypt national team coach Hossam Hassan will cancel the national team’s training camp during that period due to the absence of Al Ahly players, who are busy preparing for the Club World Cup. Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush will also be absent for rest.
It currently depends on whether Pyramids and Zamalek agree to play the match without their foreign players.
If the date is confirmed, Al Ahly will be able to register Zizo without any complications immediately after the match and, with it, the end of the season. At that point, he will participate in the Club World Cup.
